A brand that has been discussed time and again, and has been talked about by more than 3 generations. A company that relies only on a single theme behind its advertisements, for 39 Years continuously ? A Theme that has one of the highest brand recalls ever? An effort that has been internationally appreciated for its consistency, wits and innovation… A brand .. the utterly butterly delicious… which, in true sense, is an Adman’s creation! It might sound clichéd at the onset, but I wont be talking about Amul, per se (though that’s an interesting case study in itself), but more so, the Admen and the Agency behind this creation. What has been the history behind this revolution? An epiphany or a market research? A creative big bang, or an innovative insight? Who are the drivers of this moppet? What is the Advertising Strategy of the agency? Let me seek some answers in this Ps than frame questions…. Surrogate Advertising: Enforced Innovation

A recent series of hoardings led me to delve into a very unique trend specific to Indian advertising – Surrogate advertising … a trend which is fast catching up and has suddenly attracted a lot of innovative and creative brains around the country. But what is the significance of this trend vis-à-vis the entry points for new players and sustainability of existing ones? Multinati...

Seconds. Minutes. Hours. Days. Months…. I have kept the count, the count of “inactiveness”, but that’s not all what I have done about it. The silence here has been duly compensated for, outside this forum. Change has been partnering with me for quite some time now. Change - of location, from the lazy Delhi to the hyperactive Mumbai, from the insecure bachelor to the responsible family man, from the cushy professional to the struggling entrepreneur and from the fantasizing planner to the realistic doer. Few more hours and I shall complete 3 decades on this planet. Not an easy thing to digest the fact, when the ten’s digit of your age changes. As I move forward, few things are nearing closure, and few things beginning to take shape. Last birthday as a bachelor, Last month as a ‘single’ status, Last time to feel am still in the twenties, Last 20 days to marriage, Last few days of abysmal revenues First company to be proud of, First setup I can call my own, First sale in 4 digits, ...
